Unfortunately it was pretty busy as it was later in the day and many people weren't staying on trail, but that still couldn't take away from the awe-inspiring nature. ![]() ![]() The Ranger promised we "still saw it" by hiking back in that area. Well, there just isn't a sign to the offshoot. We asked at the visitor center immediately afterwards why we didn't see it, supposedly 30 minutes from the parking area when we went 45 minutes. It does take a while - I think with our drive of the entire road and attempt to hike to Grove of Titans, it took us almost 3 hours, but part of that was due to us apparently walking right by Grove of Titans. But the trees here are immense compared to those in the Ladybird Johnson grove or elsewhere around the National/State parks. It honestly is amazing cars are allowed back here at all and that it's not just for a long hike. Yes, this is a NARROW, WINDING, DUSTY road. Wow - are we glad we did this pretty much last on our Redwoods National Park trip! We started our trip south and worked our way north, which is kind of backwards for many people, but it set us up for the most amazing trees and walking path we did all day.
